Rating:5 | | This Docking Station recognizes all of my 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives within a few seconds of connecting them. Too bad Apple doesn't offer any USB 3.0 Support! Alas, it still runs perfectly fine at USB 2.0 connection speeds on my Mac Book with OS 10.6. Rating:4 | | Just received this Docking Station. It came very fast! I ordered it on 6/20 around 4PM and it's already here at 11:50AM on 6/22! A++ to Acomdata for that.
Now to the unit itself - beautiful packaging and everything was nice and compact in the box (so no need to worry about anything getting damaged or misplaced inside of it). I wasn't aware of this but it comes with a hard drive carrying case (think of a old VHS hard plastic case, but a little smaller to accommodate a 3.5" hard drive). The Docking Station itself is a little heavy, which was a surprise to me considering most Docking Stations I've picked up are fairly light. You can tell that it's very well built and that it there's no way it's going to tip over and damage your drive unless you physically kick it over (hey, it could happen, right?)
The only thing keeping me from giving this a 5 star review is that I'm not getting as fast connectivity as I'd like for a USB 3.0 product (I'm getting around 60mb/sec write speed - still a heck of a lot faster than USB 2.0 though). Rating:5 | | I've had my ACOMDATA DockIt! for about a month now and I absolutely love it. I own a computer repair shop and it makes testing user's drives very easy. Just plop in the drive and turn the switch on. Good to go!!! |
